Camping

We decided to go on a last minute trip camping up Butterfield Canyon on Saturday night and we had a lot of fun. After we left Carter and Ava's birthday party we grabbed a few things and then headed up. Lexi had a lot of fun and so did we. The only thing Lexi was not a fan of was how dark it got at night inside the trailer. Brody was happy that we were finally able to try out the camp trailer. We will hopefully get to go out and use it again in a couple weeks.

Las Vegas

Brody and I went down to Vegas last week for Syndal's dance competition. We went down with Syndal, Mike, Michelle, Josh, Heather and Maddison.I bet you are wondering what is under this cup.
This guy was. Vegas has a lot of cockroaches. This is the one that we found on our first night there. I was really scared of it so I was up on the bed while Michelle and Syndal were trying to kill it. Then we put it under the cup until Mike and Brody were able to get back from the store to take care of it.


While we were in Vegas I really wanted to go to a restaurant called Dicks. I had heard a lot about it and thought it sounded fun. The waiters are supposed to be really mean to you and believe me, they are. We went to dinner there with Josh, Heather and Maddison.

They make these funny hats for you and they are basically really crude insults.

I had to take this picture of Brody because after 4 years of being together he finally trusts my driving enough he was able to fall asleep. FYI... I was not moving while this picture was taken, I was stopped at a red light.

Here is the 2nd cockroach that we found. This one was bigger and a lot scarier. Good thing Brody was there to catch him and flush it.

We got home really late on Sunday night so I did not get to see Lexi until Monday on my lunch break and she would not even give me a hug until I showed her the things that I brought her back. Here she is with her bag full of stuff.

After she pulled out all of the new clothes she wanted to try them on and then she wanted to do a little photo shoot. Girls are so fun!!!

We had a fun trip but we missed our Lexi a whole lot and I like to think despite all the fun she had with her grandparents she missed us a little too.

Utah Weather

The weather is always pretty weird in Utah but the past week has been really weird. We have had some of the craziest thunderstorms the last few days. I normally love it when it rains but when it won't stop raining then it get sick of it. What do normal people do when it is raining a whole lot??? Mow the lawn..Right? My neighbor thought it was a good idea to keep mowing the lawn during the storm so I tried to get some pictures. These were the best I could get.

Ice Cream

Every now and then we take Lexi out to get some ice cream and we always end up at Cold Stone so Lexi can get her certain ice cream. She gets cotton candy ice cream with sprinkles mixed in. Lexi is so fun! I love driving out to Cold Stone because she is always so excited.

Papa Martin's

We went up to my Dad's house on Saturday to watch the air show and to have lunch. After 2 hours of driving we finally made it my dad's just in time for lunch but right after the air show was over. There was a really bad accident on the freeway so they closed it down and it took a lot longer then expected to get up to Layton. We had lunch and the kids all played in the "hot tub" and the slip -n- slide. After we hung out for a while we were able to catch the later air show. Lexi loved the airplanes and poor Ava was terrified of them. We had lots of fun and needless to say the kids were very tired by the end of the day.

Whenever the kids were going down the slide into the pool Lexi would always get out because she didn't want to get splashed.

Graduation

Syndal graduated high school last week and we are so proud of her. Congrats Syndal!

Happy 50th Mom!

Last Saturday was my Mom's birthday and she turned the big 5...0! The whole family helped through her a surprise party and it was a lot of fun. Happy Birthday Mom. We love you!
